Aviation insurance adjusters
Singapore Seletar Airp, Singapore
LEAPP was commissioned by aviation insurance adjusters to conduct an investigation of an incident that damaged an AirAsia aircraft at the Singapore Seletar Airport during a static engine run-up test of the aircraft engines. LEAPP investigated the causal factors involved in the damage to the aircraft which resulted when the asphalt surface layer on the pavement of the run-up pad delaminated and was blown back into the aircraft fuselage empennage structures. Project involved site investigation, pavement condition inspection and testing of the asphalt material in the surface layer of the run-up pad. Based on this an assessment was made as to the liability of the airport for the condition and failure of the pavement, for the resulting damage to the aircraft.
