LEAPP was engaged to provide airport planning services to the airport construction authority during design development of the new international airport. This involved undertaking airside simulation studies to determine requirements for phasing of airside elements for the two runways and taxiways.
In addition, LEAPP staff carried out works to finalise the design of two runways and carried out value engineering on taxiway development proposed in the Master Plan. This latter work resulted in a reduction in the scope of initial taxiway construction. The project included simulation and analysis of operations on the runways and taxiways in order to design and validate the location of high speed exits on the runways and to determine the amount of future traffic that would use individual taxiways proposed in the Master Plan.
