Dublin International Airport Airside Capacity Study

LEAPP carried out a capacity study of the airside system (runways, taxiways and aprons) for Dublin International Airport, the capital city airport for Ireland, now serving over 20 million annual passengers.
The project involved a study of airside operations for the runways taxiways and aprons, determination of the practical capacity of the airside system through simulation, and development of options for enhancing the capacity of the airside through modification to the runway, runway exits and taxiways, aprons, gates and remote aircraft parking areas.
As part of this project, LEAPP professionals carried out tests using computer simulation of a revised sectorisation of the Irish airspace that would enable improved operations for heavy air traffic flows between the United Kingdom and Ireland.
