Entebbe, Uganda
LEAPP staff prepared a long range Airport Master Plan for rehabilitation, upgrading and development of Entebbe International Airport, the airport serving Kampala, the national capital of Uganda.
The Airport Master Plan project involved:
- Development of air traffic forecasts for the airport,
- Development of peak hour aircraft and passenger traffic forecasts,
- Inspection and evaluation of all facilities and services at Entebbe Airport
- Identification of deficiencies and areas of non-compliance with ICAO standards
- Definition of future facility requirements for the airside system, passenger terminal, cargo facilities and airport support services and facilities, and
- Definition of future potential demand for other on-site commercial development
Based on forecast future requirements and opportunities for site development, a long-term airport land use plan was prepared. This was detailed, costed and phased to form an Airport Master Plan to cover an initial period of 20 years, with the capability to accommodate further growth beyond the initial horizon. The Entebbe International Airport Master Plan has been used to guide the development of airport site, to enable deficiencies and priority needs to be addressed, and facilities to be programmed for development on the basis of a logical development scheme.
