LEAPP in association with a Malaysian architect, developed the concept for the new 30 - 45 million annual passenger Low Cost Carrier Terminal for Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The concept provided for an initial passenger processing and holding capacity for 30 mppa with 250,000m² of terminal space, and the capability to expand to accommodate up to 45 mppa in the future.
Aside from developing the concept for the terminal, which won a design competition, LEAPP's key responsibilities included aircraft schedule analysis, forecast of peak hour passenger demand, terminal space and capacity analysis, definition of terminal facility requirements, development of passenger flow models, ICAO and IATA terminal standards compliance analysis and schematic design collaboration.
