Civil Aviation Authority National Airspace and Flight Procedures Study
Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal
Kathmandu, Nepal
Under funding from Australian Aid, LEAPP professionals carried out a review of the structure and management of the Nepalese airspace. This involved determining the requirements for air navigation and communications facilities and coverage, and ATC operations. The project established the needs to upgrade airspace management and air navigation safety, and proposed replacement and upgrading of telecommunications and navigation equipment. As part of this project, a review was undertaken of the instrument approach into Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport to determine whether recent technology could be applied to improve air navigation guidance into the airport.
