(Irish Airports Authority) in the development planning
for a new parallel runway at Dublin Airport. Project scope
included:
Assessment of aircraft performance
and future runway length requirements to accommodate
forecast aircraft types and markets
Development of options for runway
length and runway location within lands owned
by the Authority to minimise disruption to existing
roads
Assessment of approach and take-off
area obstacles to ensure compliance with ICAO
Standards and Recommended Practices
Investigation of wind and turbulence
conditions resulting from large hangars adjacent
to the approach for the new runway
Confirmation of runway location
and alignment, and development of taxiway system
plan.
