INDONESIA LION AIR ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

LEAPP conducted an independent investigation for Lion Air after the runway overrun accident at Solo’s Adi Sumarmo Airport which resulted in the deaths of 25 people.  A safety inspection of the Airport’s airside safety condition was undertaken to determine whether airport design contributed to the occurrence of the accident or severity.

IRELAND SLIGO AIRPORT - AIRPORT INSPECTION AND SAFETY ASSESSMENT

Following an extensive inspection of the Sligo Airport, Ireland undertook a review of airport configuration, compliance with ICAO Annex 14 Standards and airport safety status.  Defined the requirements necessary to upgrade the airport and bring it into compliance with required safety standards based on Code 2 design aircraft types.

Project Manager for assessment of airside risk for Kuala Lumpur International Airport.  Carried out an extensive airside inspection of the runway environment, taxiways and apron operations to identify hazards to aircraft operations.  This led to the establishment of a risk register and subsequent risk assessment for the Airport Authority management (Malaysia Airports Bhd.).

LEAPP Project Manager for the airside risk assessment and safety review of airside operations and facilities at various international and regional airports in Malaysia. The airports inspected includes Kota Kinabalu Airport, Miri Airport, Kuching Airport, Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Low Cost Carrier Terminal Kuala Lumpur, Penang Airport, Langkawi Airport, Subang Skypark, Sandakan Airport.

NEW ZEALAND CHRISTCHURCH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT - BIRD HAZARD RISK ASSESSMENT REVIEW

LEAPP Project Manager for the review of the Risk Assessment conducted for a proposed rowing course near the Christchurch International Airport. Undertook the assessment of the proposed mitigation measures and provided guidance on developing a risk strategy for assessing the proposed development.

SINGAPORE AIRLINES - AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

LEAPP carried out an accident investigation following damage sustained to a B737 aircraft during a static engine running up test at the Singapore Seletar Airport.  During the incident, damage occurred to the asphalt pavement, pieces of which hit the rear fuselage and tail surfaces of the aircraft.

SPAIN SPANISH AIRPORTS (AENA) - SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT

Conducted an airport inspection and subsequent risk assessment of the Ibiza International Airport.  Assisted and trained airport authority and airport operations staff in risk assessment techniques and aided in the development of the Safety Management System structure to be applied to all of AENA’s airports.

ST VINCENT MUSTIQUE ISLAND AIRPORT OPERATIONAL ASSESSMENT, SAFETY AUDIT& NEW RUNWAY DESIGN

LEAPP carried out an inspection and evaluation for the Mustique Airport located on Mustique Island in St Vincent, for the purpose of assessing the requirements for upgrading the airport to meet international standards. LEAPP also undertook the engineering design for relocating the airport runway so that it could permit unrestricted operations and would be in compliance with ICAO international standards for turboprop operations under instrument conditions.

ST. VINCENT ET JOSHUA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT - AIRPORT INSPECTION AND UPGRADING REVIEW

LEAPP Professionals carried out an inspection of ET Joshua International Airport, St Vincent with the aim of identifying key actions for upgrading the airport. A design prepared by other consultants to upgrade the airside pavements was also reviewed. The runway length requirements were determined along with the prospects for extending the runway and providing the necessary Runway End Safety Area (RESA) requirements.
